Today, I want to spell out exactly what RadioStar.FM is.

Simply put, RADI✪STAR is the Future of Internet Radio. I say this because when Darqen, Crypto, Catri, and I got together and started discussing what we wanted in a radio network, we decided to dispense of all the useless, needless restrictions that many of the other radio stations place upon their broadcasting staff and community. We decided that we would neither burden nor restrict our volunteer broadcasters with pointless network rules that do nothing but advance the station's status, or even worse... line the station administrators' pockets. Instead, we decided to create an environment of creativity and independence for our volunteers. Instead of a wall of rules and restrictions, we offer guidelines and assistance. We teach new broadcasters the "ins-and-outs" of internet broadcasting, yet do not infringe upon their concept of a program. All volunteer broadcasters have full control of their program, and retain the right to anything and everything they broadcast on their shows.

As stated in the RADI✪STAR Mission Statement:

RadioStar is a listener-supported, non-commercial freeform internet radio station broadcasting at www.radiostar.fm. Programming ranges from flat-out uncategorizable strangeness to rock and roll, experimental music, jazz, psychedelia, hip-hop, electronica, dance, punk rock, synthpop, exotica, R&B, radio improvisation, chamber music, stoner rock, found sound, audience-participation shows, interviews, spoken word collages, soundtracks as well as country.

All of the station's programming is controlled by individual DJs and is not beholden to any type of station-wide playlist or rotation schedule. Experimentation, spontaneity and humor are among the station's most frequently noted distinguishing traits. RadioStar does not belong to any existing internet radio network, and nearly all of its programming originates with volunteers.

Listener-Supported, Non-Commercial: RADI✪STAR will NEVER be a slave to the corporate money-making machine. We will NEVER be told what to play by being threatened with the elimination of funding, which is what happens every day in corporate, commercial radio.

Freeform: Music is music, and all of us enjoy different genres. There is never a need to lock the station into one specific genre.

Originality: By not restricting our volunteers, they are completely open to do whatever they want on their shows.

The result: The Future of Internet Radio. No rules, no restrictions... just music and fun!

RADI✪STAR will continue to bring good times, whether it be on the stream, in our TeamSpeak3 server, or in games such as Star Trek Online. Whether hanging out in TeamSpeak or partying in game, a good time is guaranteed for all! Keep listening, and you will see what I mean!
